When you have a lot of time to plan a move you can find ways to save money by doing things yourself. But when you have to move on short notice it’s worth it to pay a little extra and have other people take care of tasks. For example, most apartments will allow you to move out without cleaning the apartment if you pay a cleaning fee. They also will have the rugs shampooed for you although that will cost an additional fee. When you don’t have time to sort through your possessions and carefully pack them because you just have to get out of where you are at rent a climate controlled storage unit and move all of your stuff in there. Take it in clean trash bags if you need to. You can go through your stuff and pack it more carefully in the storage unit but when time is of the essence a storage unit will give you someplace safe to keep your stuff while you figure out your next move.
